ABOUT ME
My name is Li Zhou(or Lili). I am a teacher of Chinese language and culture and a lover of traditional crafts such as knotting, embroidery, and paper cutting. My passion began in childhood. Back then, my mom often sat with a group of aunties, chatting while knitting or embroidering. She never really taught me anything, yet something unspoken was passed on. My sister and I also loved making things, mostly knitting and embroidery. The fulfillment of creating something with our own hands has stayed with me ever since.
When I started teaching Chinese in 2013, I have loved integrating hands-on activities into my lessons, so students not only learn the language but also experience the culture. I believe that when you experience something yourself, you understand and remember it better, which inspired me to gradually develop my crafting knowledge and skills.
I create handmade pieces inspired by traditional Chinese culture and art. Each piece carries a story, legend, special meaning or bears a connection to a traditional festival. Crafting brings me peace and joy, and I hope to share this with you.
